PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) provides zero-balance bank accounts to unbanked Indian citizens. It comes with a free RuPay debit card, built-in accident insurance of ₹2 lakh, and an overdraft facility of ₹10,000 for eligible account holders.

Any Indian citizen aged 10 years and above who does not have a bank account. Even those without a permanent address can open an account using a self-declared address.
• Aadhaar card OR voter ID OR PAN card OR NREGA job card

• Address proof (if different from ID proof)
Visit any public sector bank, regional rural bank, or a Bank Mitra (Banking Correspondent) in your area. Ask for a PMJDY account. Fill the form, submit documents, and your account is opened the same day. You can also open it at a CSC or through the bank's app.
