Guaranteed pension of ₹1,000 to ₹5,000/month after age 60
Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a government-guaranteed pension scheme for workers in the unorganised sector. By making small monthly contributions during your working years, you are guaranteed a fixed monthly pension of ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 after you turn 60.

Indian citizens aged 18–40 years with a savings bank account who are not income taxpayers and not covered by any statutory social security scheme. You must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Visit your bank branch or log in to net banking. Ask to open an APY account under your savings account. Choose your desired pension amount (₹1,000–₹5,000). The monthly contribution will be auto-debited. The younger you enroll, the lower your monthly contribution. For example, enrolling at 18 for ₹1,000/month pension costs just ₹42/month.
