35% capital subsidy (up to ₹10 lakh) for home-based and micro food businesses
PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME) provides financial, technical, and business support to existing micro food processing businesses — including home-based units, small processors, SHGs, and FPOs. It helps them formalise, upgrade technology, and access markets.
• 35% capital subsidy on eligible project cost (maximum ₹10 lakh per unit)
• Credit-linked — collateral-free loans from banks
• FSSAI food safety licence assistance
• Branding and packaging support
• Market linkage and e-commerce onboarding
• Capacity building and training
• Special focus on ODOP (One District One Product) items
Existing micro food processing enterprises (annual turnover up to ₹25 lakh), individual entrepreneurs, SHGs, FPOs, and cooperatives involved in food processing. The unit must be existing — new greenfield projects in some cases also qualify.
• Aadhaar card
• PAN card (individual or firm)
• Udyam Registration
• Bank account details
• Existing business proof (utility bills, purchase records, etc.)
• FSSAI licence (existing or applied for)
• Project report for the proposed upgrade
Apply on the PM-FME portal at pmfme.mofpi.gov.in. State Nodal Agencies (in Tamil Nadu: Department of Food Processing) also receive offline applications. You will need a project report — the Seva Sankalp team can help you prepare this.
