₹5,000 maternity benefit for first live birth — directly to mother's account
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana provides a cash incentive of ₹5,000 to pregnant women and lactating mothers for their first live birth. The amount is paid in installments and is meant to compensate for wage loss during pregnancy and encourage institutional delivery and early childcare.
• ₹3,000 on first installment (after pregnancy registration at health centre)
• ₹2,000 on second installment (after child's first vaccination)
• Additional ₹6,000 for women who deliver at a government hospital under Janani Suraksha Yojana
• Directly credited to the mother's bank account
All pregnant women and lactating mothers for their FIRST living child. Women who are employed with the Central or State Government and are entitled to maternity benefits are excluded.
• Mother's Aadhaar card
• Husband's Aadhaar card
• Mother's bank account (or joint account)
• MCP (Mother and Child Protection) card
• Proof of pregnancy registration at health centre
Register at your nearest Anganwadi Centre or government hospital when you are pregnant. The Anganwadi worker or ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) will fill the PMMVY form. You can also apply online at pmmvy.wcd.gov.in. Installments are credited after fulfilling each condition.
